It’s really nice to be able to do so, because you don’t always need harsh white light.

The Yang floor or table lamp was designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua for Artemide. It was recently featured in the Design Real exhibition. Its spherical structure is made out of transparent polycarbonate. It has three spots, which have different filters available, from red, blue, and green. This means that it can generate a vast number of different colors. There is a built-in anti-dazzling screen, which creates more diffuse light when needed. The lamps includes a small microprocessor, which lets you select from ten pre-programmed light atmospheres.

The lighting is infinitely customizable thanks to that small included computer. You can set the lamp to be less bright so that you can save energy. This lamp was created for color therapy. Yang naturally comes with a remote control. The Yang lamp is available with compact fluorescent bulbs, but there is also a halogen variant.

Even if the checkout process reveals a sales or state tax or some sort, that’s still around a hundred bucks for a WiFi-capable device that can print, scan, photocopy, and fax.
