If you have been long waiting for SIP clients to become compatible with your iPhones, well you wouldn’t have to wait any more…because now you can easily use iPhone SIP client. This was one major problem, which was discouraging because no Sip application was being supported on iPhones previously. This was largely due to Apple’s delayed decision not to support VoIP applications on iPhones. But, today things have changed for the better. Fortunately, iPhone users are now facilitated with Sip apps and make VoIP calls using their wireless VoIP service to any destination in the world.

SIP is an acronym for Session Initiation Protocol, which is a multimedia conferencing protocol, which conveniently enables one to make telephone calls via the Internet, or otherwise make VoIP calls, and I’m sure you might know about VoIP, in particular. With iPhone SIP in your Apple iPhone, you can now make VoIP calls using your wireless VoIP network or hotspots, and save money on calls which otherwise are charged way too much to afford by anyone. Call as many people as you want and for how long you want without worrying about phone bill to haunt you or worry about minutes falling by and costing you many dollars every passing sec. No more, talk time worries!

You can now easily load in iPhone SIP applications that allow you to take advantage of wireless VoIP technology. However, recently, many VoIP service providers have launched their VoIP apps for iPhones, including VoIP, Truphone, Jajah, fring, and iCall among others. With Sip integrated application for iPhoners, using VoIP isn’t a problem at all!

One might think what took it so long to finally bring in iPhone SIP? Well, the biggest reason behind this delay was the restrictions put up by Apple itself. Apple was in favor of launching voice over IP calls through iPhones for security reasons, most likely. Apple had set limited to using SIP applications with wireless VoIP networks, which allowed only SIP clients (Skype being an example) to function only if you are in the proximity of a Wi-Fi network. This restriction was merely to place so that iPhone VoIP calling would not steal away AT&T’s income being received otherwise from their regular wireless calls. Of course, AT&T’s concern in this matter was quite vindicated, but on part of iPhoners, this was slightly frustrating and injust. iPhone users who wanted to use Sip apps on their phones had been restricted to use them and get their share of cost effective and tremendous other benefits.

However, Apple still has blocked iPhone SIP VoIP clients to use cellular data connection but now you are facilitated to download iPhone SIP apps from the official iPhone app store. Apple has eased up on the restriction and is now openly working on the development of further improving the compatibility of iPhones with SIP clients. You can choose from a number of SIP applications for you iPhone easily and enjoy the friendly user interface to make and receive calls locally and internationally at a very affordable cost.

This is just the beginning…so iPhone users there will be more moments of rejoicing because Apple and Sip Clients are working together to bring in even more exciting stuff for you to get benefits from.

Happy Dialing!
